This week the Los Angeles City Council honored Chief Phillip Tingirides on the occasion of his retirement from the LAPD after 39 years of service. After serving for 27 years on various assignments throughout the LAPD, in 2007, Chief T was appointed as the senior area Captain for Watts where his exemplary work would become internationally recognized. Together with his wife, Lt. Emada Tingirides, they created the Community Safety Partnership in Watts, a program that was recognized by President Barack Obama and is being replicated both nationally and internationally. Chief T, your dedication and love for the community cannot be replaced. We wish you the best in retirement.
