November 16, 2019 Councilmember Buscaino joined with Streets LA and community leaders to break ground on the $4 Million Central Avenue Streetscape project which will make improvements on Central Ave between 97th Street and Imperial Highway.
Over the next few months Streets LA will be working tirelessly to:
- Build new landscaped medians
- Reconstruct sidewalks
- Build new curb extensions
- Plant new street trees
- Add pedestrian lighting
- Build new crosswalks
This project would not be possible without the hard work of City and local leaders including Tim Watkins, Watts Rising, and LA Streets General Manager Adel Hagekhalil and his team Nishith Dhanda and Scott Shiamatsu. By investing in our infrastructure we are investing in our future and a sustainable pedestrian-friendly Watts that serves the needs of all residents.
