Building A New Jordan Downs in Watts!

Last week Mayor Eric Garcetti and I, along with the Housing Authority of The City of L A opened the Century Boulevard extension through the Jordan Downs housing development in Watts, where we are nearing the completion of 115 new three-story townhome-style units in the first phase of redevelopment. We also broke ground on the next phase of 135 more units. The long-term, public-private effort will rebuild 700 units of distressed public housing and create, another 700 new homes with a range of affordability, along with a new community and recreation center, approximately 165,000 square feet of retail, nine acres of green space, and neighborhood programs and services to improve the lives of current and future generations. Watts is rising!
